Lady Weingard was sent to Markus in May 1997, as a ten-year-old and immediately became one of the most important horses in Markus’s career. Already after a few weeks of teamwork, they won the Grand Prix events in Balve and Wiesbaden. Shortly after, Markus and Lady Weingard were nominated for the European Championship team in Mannheim where they won team gold. Many more successes followed. In 1998 Markus and Lady Weingard were the only combination on the German team to have two clear rounds in the prestigious Nation’s Cup of Aachen. To top it off, they became World Champions in Rome the very same year. In both Championships they also finished in the top ten in the indivual rankings. In 2000, Markus and Lady Weingard won the Grand Prix in Wellington, Florida. One year later, when Markus wanted to retire Lady Weingard, her owner decided to sell her to Jörne Sprehe. On October 1st, 2006, Lady Weingard was retired from international sport in Bremen at the age of 19. Her successes total more than 450,000.00 euros.
