Germany victorious in Aachen's Nations Cup
A week of good results at the prestigious CHIO Aachen has come to an end. It started off well with Daisy clearing her Aachen debut, the Youngster class on Tuesday, resulting in a 7th place finish. The young mare by Excenel V continued to clear both other rounds of Aachen's Youngster Cup, having just one fence down in the final jump off.
For the first time Fibonacci was part of Germany's Nations Cup team under Aachen's floodlights, along with Epleaser van't Heike and Christian Ahlmann, Pret a Tout and Marcus Ehning, and Casello and Ludger Beerbaum, Nacho jumped both rounds extraordinarily well, not touching a single rail and wowing the crowds. Those two flawless rounds helped Germany win for the first time since 2008 - the last time Shutterfly jumped a Nations Cup in Aachen.
Meredith also brought Comanche and Apsara. Twiggy jumped Aachen's dreaded double water on the first try on Wednesday and also finished 6th in Saturday's main class, the "Prize of AachenMünchener" following two clear rounds. Chief placed 6th on Friday moning.
